Gain

This expression is often used in the context of different types of screens. Gain describes how much light the screen reflects in relation to the quantity of light projected on the screen. A screen with 1,0 gain reflects exactly as much light as projected on it, when a screen with lower gain reflects less light. The most common is a screen with a gain 1.0.
